The civil war has ended and Madison Hemings, son of Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings, and Israel Jefferson, formerly enslaved footman, return to their birthplace of Monticello in hopes of reuniting with Israel’s long-lost brother. On their journey the men consider many questions – including the most difficult one – how do they feel about the man who wrote “all men are created equal" while owning enslaved people?
WBTT closes its season with a new musical revue celebrating the iconic singer, songwriter, musician and activist Stevie Wonder! Stevie rose to fame in the 1960s and is known for his contributions to pop, R&B and soul music. Created by artistic director Nate Jacobs, the show will include hits like "Uptight (Everything's Alright)," "For Once In My Life," "Superstition," "Sir Duke," "Isn't She Lovely," "I Just Called to Say I Love You," and "You Are the Sunshine of My Life."
