Suwatana Rockland, also known as Pla, is thrilled to return to WBTT. She is known for her elaborate and colorful work in Once On This Island during the 2023-24 season. She is currently a resident costume designer, professor, and costume shop supervisor at The College of Wooster.
Suwatana is originally from Thailand, where she was a professional dancer, actress and choreographer. She has worked on commercials, TV shows, and stage productions and holds an MFA in Costume Design from Kent State University. Suwatana is a proud member of United Scenic Artists, Local USA 829, IATSE and USITT. Her professional credits have included: Cleveland Playhouse, Baldwin Wallace, Beck Center for the Arts, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Public Theater, Dobama Theatre, East Meets West, Karamu House, Ohio Light Opera, Patravadi Dance Theatre, Porthouse Theatre, and Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe. www.plarocklanddesign.com Instagram: Plarocklanddesign
