Alyssa Jo Marten is a queer, neurodivergent woman of Colombian and Cuban descent. After 18 years of studying dance in South Florida, Marten earned her BFA in Dance with a concentration in Jazz Dance and Choreography from Marymount Manhattan College. Alyssa has been a Professional Trainee with the Verdon Fosse Legacy since 2024.
Their notable credits include Cassie Ferguson in A Chorus Line, Fastrada in Pippin, as well as performing in works created by Rena Butler, Dylan Pearce and Adesola Osakalumi. Mentored by Broadway veterans Jessica Lee Goldyn, Maryann Lamb, Alyssa Epstein, and Omari Wiles, Alyssa received training from esteemed educators who serve as credible sources in passing down the history of various dances.
She has trained and performed with The Verdon Fosse Legacy, Ballet Hispanicó, Tanztheater Wuppertal and Complexions Contemporary Ballet Academy.
