Al’Jaleel McGhee, an actor and screenwriter, makes his WBTT debut with Paradise Blue. He has appeared on Broadway and the National Tour of A Soldier’s Play. His regional theatre work includes Revolution(s) (Goodman Theatre), Henry Johnson (Victory Gardens), Noises Off (Geffen Playhouse; Steppenwolf), Toni Stone (Huntington Theatre), Intimate Apparel and Fireflies (Northlight Theatre), and Blues for an Alabama Sky (Court Theatre).
As a screenwriter, McGhee’s project This Blessed Land is currently in development. His on-screen appearances include Duster (HBO), Lady in the Lake, 61st Street (AMC), and Power: Force (Starz).
McGhee is a member of the inaugural MFA Acting cohort at Northwestern University and also trained at UIC and NCCU.
