Astrid Victoria grew up on the WBTT stage, creating cherished memories here. When she took the stage for her Young Artist Showcase in 2021, she was fresh out of high school, inspired and ready to pursue a college education and begin her future. Now that she has achieved that milestone by graduating from college, she is ready to once again take the stage, finding herself reflective of all that has taken place in her life with eyes that are alight with excitement for what is still to come.

Overview
For Astrid Victoria, to think of the Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (and the art-filled city of Sarasota) is to think of home. It is a site of growth, a place of continued inspiration, and the birthplace of treasured memories old and new. The last time Astrid took on the WBTT stage for a Young Artist Showcase, she was fresh out of high school, inspired and ready to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Commercial Music at Southeastern University. Now that she has graduated, she once again finds herself reflective of all that has taken place personally, emotionally, and artistically––more than ever before, her eyes are alight with excitement for what is to come.
Through song, poetry, and conversation, let Astrid walk you through the inner workings of her mind and heart in a unique expression of how “home” currently manifests for her. As life continues to prove itself unpredictable, humbling, fun, and challenging, she finds no better reflecting place than her art. Come in, find a seat, and make yourself at home. The music will do what it does best: flow from soul to soul and find purchase. Astrid is joined by cherished friends and family: Acacia Mays and Moriah Farmer on vocals; JC McIntyre on drums; Bekah Gray on bass; and the excellent Matthew McKinnon on keys and as Music Director.
