Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (WBTT) will produce two musical revues this summer, one world premiere and one repeat of a previously sold-out run. Best of Stevie Wonder, a new musical revue adapted and written by Nate Jacobs, will run July 17th through July 28th. Sammy Tonight! with the multi-talented De'zhon Fields as Sammy Davis Jr., comes back August 21st through September 1st. Part of the 2012 season, Sammy Tonight! virtually sold out every performance for its limited run. Times for all shows are Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00 pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm. Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (WBTT) is pleased to announce the launch of its Young Artist Program, where Troupe members are able to showcase their talents with one-night, one-person shows at the WBTT Theater, 1646 10th Way, in Sarasota. The first two scheduled are Alyssa White on Monday, April 29th and Michael Mendez on Monday, May 13th. Time for each is 8:00 pm and ticket price is $25. SPECIAL ONE-TIME ONLY PERFORMANCE COMMEMORATING BLACK HISTORY MONTH

We Are Because They Were will be presented on Saturday, February 23 at 2:00 pm in the Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe theater, 1646 10th Way, Sarasota, FL. Highlighting the soul music of the 70s, the all-male cast will offer up a wonderful musical revue of some of this era's classic hits. Nate Jacobs, founding artistic director of WBTT, has written and adapted the show, much like the first, but with an entire new group of musical favorites.
